Color Guard

The Color Guard is a very important section in the Royal Wilson Marching Alliance. Providing a visual aspect to performances, the Color Guard complements the Band and Drumline through flags, sabers, rifles, and other equipment through movement.  Being a member of the Guard requires much practice in order to master the arts of tossing and spinning flags, rifles, sabers and any other equipment. Color Guard is a much needed performance unit that provides the Royal Wilson Marching Alliance with a great advantage in performances and competitions.

During second semester, Color Guard becomes more commonly known as the Winter Guard.  The Winter Guard, which performs completely separate group from the band, performs their routine along to a chosen piece.  Those continuing in Winter Guard learn a new and advanced routine, completely different from the one used for the fall field show.  The Winter Guard competes and performs at indoor competitions and at the Spring Finale.
