Rich Torres - Director
Rich Torres, received his education, degree and credentials from California State University, Fullerton. While at Cal State Fullerton, he performed with the top ensembles on saxophone while pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. He has provided his expertise in woodwind education and music arranging to various programs across Southern California.
Before coming to Glen A. Wilson High School, he was the Band Director at Chaffey High School and Duarte High School. During his tenure at these sites, the Music Programs grew as well as accumulated various accolades. He has instructed various levels of wind ensembles, jazz ensembles, drumline, color guard and orchestra. He is also a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity.
Pete Sapadin - Percussion Caption Head & Battery Arranger
Pete Sapadin is a marching percussion specialist based in Southern California who excels at teaching his students the skills necessary to perform at the highest levels in the marching activity. Mr. Sapadin started his marching percussion career as a member of the 1987 Velvet Knights and then went on to become a member of the Concord Blue Devils in 1989 & 1990, and the Cadets of Bergen County in 1991. Mr. Sapadin was invited back to teach the Velvet Knights under Tom Float in 1992 and later took the reins as the Percussion Caption Head / Arranger for the Casper, Wyoming Troopers 2002-2004, and the Yamato Drum & Bugle Corps in 2005. Under the RWMA, this is Pete Sapadin's first second as percussion instructor.
With years of experience teaching and performing professionally in various ensembles from Anaheim, CA, Orlando, FL, NYC & Tokyo, Mr. Sapadin is able to bring 'real world' experience to his students and he does so with his own unique and engaging style. Pete Sapadin teaches percussion at multiple high schools, middle schools and as part of the Riverside Community College Independent World Class percussion staff. He continues to demonstrate his ability to inspire, motivate and instruct his students to truly become the best in the world, and is the Show Coordinator/ Battery Writer/ Caption Head for the City Sound Indoor Drumline. Mr. Sapadin is a highly sought after clinician and proud to be a Vic Firth Education Artist, a Pearl Education Artist, and a Remo Education Artist.
Wendy Lomeli - Color Guard Caption Head
Wendy Lomeli has been on the Wilson Staff since 2006. Wendy is a graduate of Chino High School, where she preformed for four years in the 77th Cavalry Marching Unit color guard. In 2005, she was part of the team that earned bronze at Winter Guard International, and gold at SCSBOA. The year after, Wendy's team went back to WGI to reclaim Bronze Medal. Her experience with color guard includes four years of performance and six years of teaching in the Royal Wilson Marching Alliance. Wendy's responsibilities include choreographing the routines of the Wilson Color Guard.
Jorge Estrella - Color Guard Instructor
Jorge Estrella is a graduate of Glen A. Wilson High School, where he marched in our very own RWMA for 3 years. He has been an instructor since 2011, and has practiced with the Cavalier Drum and Bugle Corps and is currently a member of the Fantasia Winter guard. After this winter guard season he plans to march with the Blue Devils and win himself some medals.
